Strategic Planning in Higher EducationStrategic Planning in Higher Education is as the subtitle indicates, A Guide for Leaders. The model emphasizes the process of leading planning efforts, as much as the necessary features of a plan. Focus is particularly on planning in higher education, though the framework presented has broad applicability. Each phase addresses an area critical to ensuring a comprehensive planning process, and useful, dynamic plan. Additionally, all phases are viewed from three strategic planning imperatives: 1) Leadership - Your role in creating an environment for collective engagement in planning, implementation, and change. 2) Communication - Your role in creating and supporting investment and interest in the planning process, its progress and its outcome. 3) Assessment - Your part
in promoting the important role evaluation plays in sucessful change. The guide will be published by NACUBO in 2004. |
